We’re Exeter’s Library of Things: borrow what you need instead of buying it, and pass it back to the next person when you’re done.
A drill, a carpet cleaner, a gazebo—most of us use them once or twice, then store them in a cupboard for years. Almost nobody needs to own them. We’re the simple alternative: borrow it, use it, bring it back.
Every item borrowed here is one that didn’t need to be made, bought and forgotten. That saves our members money and keeps useful things in use—without anyone having to do without. We’re not here to make you feel guilty about buying things; we’re here to make the better choice the easier one.
We’ve been going over ten years, entirely volunteer-run. The good we do is built quietly, by people who turn up because they care—stocking the shelves, testing the kit, keeping the doors open. We’re not reinventing the world. We’re lending a drill, and we’re glad to do it well.
We want to be the first place you look when you need a thing for a job you don’t do often. More items, easier access, more of Exeter borrowing instead of buying.
